As for what we still need....
We need man power. Are there any companies out there willing to donate time and energy to help rebuild our fencing? We have such great plans, but it takes an army, and we are but a small
1) Split Rail or two rail fence. We need Miles and Miles of split rail fence with posts. We are required to have a fence between you and the wolves fence. To enhance our tours, we someday hope to be able to take folks all the way around the 22 acre enclose. When the last post is driven we will have adventure walks for those that want to see.
2) Meat! Meat! Meat! Meat! Did I mention we need Meat! deer, beef, chicken. Frozen please. Each wolf needs a minimum of 5 pounds per day. Yikes!
3) Jerky Style dog treats, and hot dogs (not spicy)
4) Volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering at the wolf sanctuary, please email us at wolfsanctuary@gmail.com and ask for an application to be sent to you. Once you have completed the form and returned it, someone will contact you to set up a time to meet and get started. We require 1000 hours before you can start feeding and watering. This is not a petting zoo so don't come if all you want to do is pet a wolf. We love our wolves, but they are not pets.
5) A new Polaris. Every day the care takers trek to and fro feeding and watering the packs. The terrain is not always human friendly with hills to navigate up with food and water on board. We have a small very old six wheeler that always seems to have something wrong with it. We have had it for many many years and we keep it together with chewing gum and twine. :-) Someday, we wish to have an all terrain vehicle for more then one caretaker to ride and carry the supplies back and forth. With your help, maybe we can make that happen! Polaris Ranger XP 700
